Carlos Martinez de Campos y Carulla holds a degree in Economics from the Complutense University in Madrid.
He was Chairman of Barclays Bank, SAU from 1984 after having been appointed Managing Director of Barclays PLC in Spain in 1969. He also served as President of Barclays Bank, SA in France, as Director of Merck Finck & Co private bank in Munich, and as Director of Barclays for Europe and latterly extending to the international network and private banking. Carlos also served as a member of the Executive Committee of Barclays Group in London. Carlos also worked in Argentina and Brussels with Barclays.
Carlos has served on the Board of Directors of a number of companies including Rio Tinto Minera, Descontiber, Lanetro Zed, Everis, Prosegur, USP Hospitales and the Advisory Board of Apax Partners in Spain, amongst others.
He began his career in commercial and investment banking in Spain, USA, UK and Norway.
Simon Blaxland holds a degree in Real Estate Management from Kingston University and was accepted as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1990.
Simon has over 25 years of experience in real estate, many of them working for investment companies in Spain focused mainly on the office and retail sectors. He began his professional career in 1987 at consultants Knight Frank in London and later in Madrid. He then worked for Prima Inmobiliaria, SA in Madrid and the French bank Credit Commercial de France (now HSBC) in Paris.
Between 1996 and 2001 Simon worked for Goldman Sachs in Paris and London, where he formed part of the real estate Whitehall investment fund team before joining the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs.
After a brief spell as Country Manager for GE Real Estate Manager for Spain and Portugal, Simon founded Exmoor Group in 2004 in Spain, where he was managing partner until September 2012. Exmoor acted as a real estate investor and operating partner and worked with various private equity investment groups on commercial property investments across Iberia. In addition to his activity within Exmoor Group, he also served as an independent consultant of several companies and investment funds operating in the UK, Portugal, Germany and the markets of Eastern Europe, amongst others.
Since September 2012 and until his appointment as Director and CEO of Uro Property Holdings SOCIMI S.A., Simon served as European Investment Director for AEW Europe, an international real estate fund management firm, based in London. Whilst at AEW Simon worked on fund raising initiatives targeted at institutional and sovereign investors for investment in commercial real estate across Europe.
James Preston holds a degree in History from the University of London and was accepted as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (ARICS) in 1993.
In 2005 he founded a 50/50 joint venture with Rockspring Property Investment Managers, to create Rockspring Iberia; a platform for acquiring and managing commercial real estate on behalf of institutional funds managed by Rockspring in the Iberian Peninsula. James is a shareholder and CEO of the company, as well as the fund manager of a Rockspring Portuguese fund known as RP3.
In 2013, James co-founded Temprano Capital Partners, an investment firm aiming to acquire and manage value add and distressed real estate assets in Spain and Portugal, focusing on retail property.
Previously he was Director of International Investment at Jones Lang Wootton (now JLL), Investment Director at Aguirre Newman and founding partner/CEO of Rutland Financial (Insignia Financial Group), all in Madrid.
James began his career in London Healey and Baker (now Cushman and Wakefield) in 1990. He has 24 years of industry experience, of which 20 have been spent in Spain and Portugal.
Justo Gómez López has a degree in Business Administration from CUNEF, Madrid.
Justo was Finance director and Member of the Executive Committee at Banco Santander in the UK. Prior to that he was Assistant Director for Finance at Banesto from 1994 where he was responsible for Financial Management and Investor Relations and formed part of the Assets and Liabilities Committee.
Previously, Justo held various positions as financial analyst in various fund management companies and brokerage firms.
Jonathan Kendall graduated in Philosophy and Modern Greek at the University of Oxford (Hertford College).
During the last 15 years, Jonathan Kendall has held senior positions in the financial services sector for various investment banks and financial services firms, including Bear Stearns, Nomura, Daiwa SMBC Europe, and more recently, Commerzbank.
Jonathan specializes in bond markets and has experience in fundraising and in the structuring and marketing of financial products to institutional investors in Scandinavia, Spain and the UK.
